Eddie,
Once upon a time, I had an oil leak at the distributor stand where the
tachometer (speedo drive pinion?) cable exits, which I traced to a tear in
the seal in the end of the tach cable. Replaced the seal, solved the
problem. Hasn't leaked since.
Do as you wish, but I'd cap it.
