Dave, The B6ES is listed on NGK's site as correct for a 1600. The BP6ES
is a projected tip, listed in many web sites as the right plug, and if
it the same length a B6ES, it should work as well or better. BPR6ES is
a resistor plug, same construction, should work same as the BPR6ES.
Essentially, they all should work. Funny enough, an MG also takes a
BP6ES, so the conspiracy theory may hold true. Look forward to meeting
you at the Glen.

Linda, the BP6ES-11 is the same plug, but factory gapped at.044. It
will give you the wide gap for the EI distributor. Opening the gap on a
standard plug works, but then the ground electrode is angled a bit.

The 2000 is listed as a BPR5ES on the NGK site, funny, it's a hotter
plug than a BP6ES, and usually a colder plug is used in a higher
performance engine.
Again, BP6ES is listed on many sites as correct for a 2000.

What the article says that applies to us is that in all cases, the same
plug series with a platinum or iridium plug may run cleaner and spark
more consistently. BP6EP or BP6EIX. Add the -11 for wide gap. Another
article on the site discusses plug wires, noting that the original style
wires do wear out and deteriorate more quickly than spiral cores,
something mentioned in previous posts.

I'm using Bosch Platinum, but may switch to NGK when I finally put an EI
in mine. I have pre-ignition/ run on problems, although the leaky carb
shafts may be doing a lot of that.

So what is the differance between BP6ES and BPR6ES and B6ES. I have two
boxes of the B6ES that I got from autozone and one box of BPR6ES that I
won at the roadster cookout raffle at the glen ( may have been snuck in
by the evil dark forces of the MG group)
