Subject: Suspension rebuild - how much slop is too much?
I'm in the middle of rebuilding the suspension from the ground up and
through I would draw upon the collective wisdom of the list to get your
opinions about what I should concerned about.
My ball joints all seem pretty smooth and solid, but the upper and lower
a-frame bushings rattle around (probably .5 degrees of motion). I hate the
idea of something being that loose, on the other hand some of the slop of
the individual arms will be limited by the structure of the a-frame.
Thoughts? Am I getting too crazy?
Also. Any thoughts on painting suspension parts? I'd like to put a nice
black enamel over everything to give them a clean look, but am fearful that
mere spray paint will chip and that anything short of a powdered coat is a
waste of time.
