Ok List, I need some help. I had a 160 degree thermo on my 1600 and when I ran
it, the temp hovered around 180 consistently. In the "spirit" of preventative
maintenence I changed out my thermo when flushing the system and was "advised"
that a 180 degree stant thermo would be fine. Well, my car is now running hot
at idle 210 and when running on the road it is at about 200. The similarity
here is that when I I swapped thermos from a 160 to a 180, the car is now
running 20 degrees hotter. Plus, I read in 311s that 1600 thermo will open at
162 degrees and 2000 will open at around 179.6. Anybody have a stant thermo
part number or any thermo part number for a 160 degree thermo for a 1600.
