It's a great product, especially since the basic version is free. I've
used it for years, and set it to automatically delete blacklisted
addresses so they don't get downloaded. Only problem is once in a while
accidentally putting a friend in the blacklist group (people switch
email addresses a lot). Mailwasher is much better than Norton/Symantec
products.
I've gotten so many phishing e-mails for eBay and PayPal that I only
forward a fraction to them. eBay does respond, and confirms that the
phishers are fraudulent.
Roadster content - too hot to cruise in the car today, so am cruising
the internet.

Subject: RE: OT / New eBay Phishing Scheme
The advice to forward the e-mail to eBay or PayPal is good advice. I
always forward fraud e-mails from either company while I am previewing
my e-mail in MailWasher. These particular phishing e-mails contain
script that prevents forwarding the e-mail from Outlook. Now that I am
aware of these phishing expeditions I can forward them fully intact with
MailWasher, where I can see the e-mail on my mail server before I
download the e-mail into my PC.
MailWasher has proven itself to be a valuable anti-virus tool. I
preview all of my e-mail before I download it. Using configurable
filters MailWasher marks friends, blacklisted addresses, shows me if
there is an attachment, and hides e-mail I never want to see based on
content. It also allows me to view the HTML script within the e-mail if
I want to. This feature allows me to figure out whether the e-mail is
going to the link I see in the e-mail, or somewhere I would never
suspect because the link has a few HTML tricks built into it. I can do
all of this before I download the e-mail to my PC. I can reply or
delete the e-mail directly from MailWasher if I don't want to download
the e-mail to my PC. MailWasher is a freeware program unless you choose
to purchase the professional version, which is the version I use.
Sorry for the ad, but MailWasher is a very good program to look at if
you want to increase your virus protection.
