trim question

Funny how you can have a car for 18 years and not know such a basic  
thing, but...
There is a piece of trim/weatherstrip on the top of the windscreen  
frame of my 70 1600.  It is the push on type trim with a hollow  
rubber bulb (long since flattened out and squished).  Is this what  
was originally on there?  I'm beginning to suspect that it's not  
right, and that it should  just be a piece of trim to cover the sheet  
metal flange.  Any thoughts?
