I'm sure some will refuse to believe it, but thanks to Andy Cost progress is
actually being made on the '70 2K that I bought from Mike McCabe about 18
months ago. Andy picked it up here in Temple Friday and we met in Waco today
(Andy and crew headed north, us headed back to Cameron) so I could give him
a pressure plate and T/O bearing that I got from a friend in Ft. Worth.
We hope to have it back together and ready for trip to the Hill Country, NW
of San Antonio, Memorial Day weekend so Marc Tyler and I (and anyone who
wants to join us) can terrorize the rural bovine population. I'm also
thinking about organizing another Datsun group appearance at the
Fredericksburg Swap Meet, being held July 28-30 this year. We had a great
time two years ago and I could prove to some that, yes, I really do have at
least one Datsun that runs!!
Our recent move (35 miles SE) from Temple to Cameron brought with it
covered, but not garage, parking, so I'm gonna need a good car cover. I
searched my archives and came up with Covercraft for a manufacturer, but no
model or part number reference. Anyone have that info available?
Needless to say, Elayne and I are both excited about the prospect of of
having the roadster to play with. Now, if we can just figure a reasonably
painless way to get out of it after we get in. ;>)
