Originally the 2000 rads were 3 core and the 1600 rads were 2 core but they are the same physical size. Since most rad shops would recommend a 3 core rad for any replacement, they are for all purposes the same size. I don't know of any one who still has the original core after all these years. Heavy applications of silicone will ruin any radiator so if you use silicone, use it sparingly. Mike |
