Rest assured, Australia has no corner on the market of self-
designated roadside 'cops' more than happy to critique everyone's
driving, regardless of the perceived indiscretion. These are usually
the same people you encounter behind the wheel of their car impeding
the flow of traffic at 10 - 15 mph under the posted limit, usually in
the 'fast' lane and executing ill-timed lane changes without benefit
of signal. On some of my less forgiving days, I wish for a rack of
heat seeking missles or some sort of stun gun capable of temporarily
shorting their electrical system. Thankfully for all involved, my
fantasy remains just that.
I'm also beginning to notice a trend: these folks always seem to be
driving Subarus, Buicks or Volvos. 'Course, that may just be my
selective perception...
