hi list,
i have come to the conclusion (i think) of not trying to do a stroker
due to the costs involved...mainly due to the costs of a new set of
weber carbs. has anyone done a stroker and just used the SU's from a
stock 1600?
i am planning to put a stock motor with minor mods in first, and then
start saving for a newer motor like the KA24. i am going to put in a
2000 clutch assembly, Gary's EI dizzy, and a header. i wouldn't mind
doing other stuff, but i want it to make a difference if i do. would
doing a stroker crank/pistons form a forklift motor give me much
advantage if i keep the SU carbs? maybe a new cam too? since the
motor is out of the car, i am open to suggestions. i could polish and
port the head to match the intake & exhaust manifolds if that will make
a difference. would different valves help? different springs?
otherwise, i'll just limit it to what i've already got and leave it at
that until i get another motor a few years down the line.
