Pat,
We've installed a new engine harness already. This is the one that takes
care of the lights and ends near the front of the car. The other wires
coming out of the fire wall, those are the ones I'm lost on. For
instance, the ones you mention that are exensive and part of the dash
harness, what specifically do they go to? I have a new harness for the
alternator but the plug ins don't fit either the car so I'm thinking
maybe either the cars plugs aren't right or the harness is incorrect or
I'm mistaken thinking that the plugs from the car are not at all for the
alternator and are for something entirely different. See the thing is,
the harnesses I'm buying for a 1970 1600 are not working out, they do
not jive with what's in the car. If I can see an actual 1970 1600 or
2000, then it's easy, I can get a visual. Then it's mearly a matter of
chopping off the connector that doesn't fit and reconfigure that. The
wires in the car have no color on them so I cannot trace them back.
It's a cluster **** in there.
So I know basically what I need, it's just the dots are not lining up at
all. Maybe a brief description of the fire wall and what harnesses
originate from and go to would be very helpful start.
Thanks.
