Jay:

Check to see that the splash plate behind the brake drums is not bent and
touching the drum. Also, check the crossover lines on the brake
calipers--the ones that go from the outboard to inboard caliper. One of them
may be rubbing on the inside of a wheel rim.

Ok...stupid question...

What causes a wheel to squeak, and what's the best way to fix it?

I'm talking about the kind of high pitched squeak that starts slow
(squeak........squeak.........squeak.....), gets fast faster as you
accelerate (squeak..squeak..squeak..squeak..), and goes away when you either
apply the brakes or turn.

Is it a dragging caliper, or does my squeaky wheel literally need grease?

Regards to all,
