If your new alternator has a higher output rating you should also choose an
ammeter that will handle the current it could be carrying.  If you overload
a light duty ammeter and your batter begins to charge excessively you could
damage the ammeter and end up paying for what is likely a spendy part
twice.  Get the 60 Amp meter and you won't have any problems.
