  hi,

thx for all the great help. I appreciate the offers on the heater core as
well. I think I will take someone up on it. I have put enough time into
already not to use it. thx everyone

here is all I know about what I have done. all the rest of the wiring looks
correct. Im starting to wonder if Im missing something also. This is how I
have it hooked up:

1.. Battery cable from POS terminal on battery to starter. It is connected
to the same bolt as two wires from the original harness.
2.. Battery cable from NEG terminal on battery to ground bolt (bolt that
holds alternator bracket to block).
3.. Condenser wire (only wire that has not been replaced it is part of
the unit) to distributor.
4.. Wire from condenser connection on side of distributor to the NEG
terminal on coil.
5.. Wire from + on coil to resistor.
6.. Wire from resistor to fuse panel.

The ignition switch appears to be wired correctly. I do not think the switch
is bad either. Car will get spark with a jumper wire from POS terminal on
battery to POS terminal on coil. However the car will not shutdown using the
IG switch. I have had the car running several times without the jumper. The
switch will work properly at that time as well. After a few seconds it will
stop running. It will then turn over but not start. The battery showed a
12.10 volts on the meter. I have also installed the 311s.org alternator mod.
The car was doing as I have described before the mod however.

I am at a loss so any ideas are appreciated. Im close to calling in an
electrical car guy. I think I have already mentioned that I have the dash
out of the car and all the wires are loose. I have gone through and replaced
and soldered and connections that needed it. is there a way to test the IG
switch out of the vehicle?

Any way im real sorry about bothering everyone with my questions. This is my
first real foray into fixing up a car and can honestly say I don't know
where I would be without this group!

Thx,

Mike
