Mark, My tach cable in my '66 was always squirly like
that. I could lube it and that would help, but not
for long. I finally bought a used cable on E-Bay, and
it is now perfect. Guess the cable was just bad. If
you can find a cheap used one, it is worth a try to
replace it.
