starts but wont run

my 70 had the same symptoms it was nothing wrong with the car just
the owner .check and see if you have a kill switch .car will start
and stop instantly. hold the key in the start possition and hold it
there if it keeps running untill you let go the key this could be
your problem .ps this is not too good for your starter .good luck
