One-off's ARE pricey, but a "group buy" could lower the costs to fair market
price. I spoke to Jamie Houseman of Houseman Autosports
http://www.housemanautosport.com/index.html several months ago and he told
me he could reproduce our U20 timing gears for a reasonable batch price.
This would not be too profitable for a vendor as he have to mark them up to
cover his time and effort, and price them out of reach. Jamie is also very
experienced with our 5 speeds. but, instead of replacing the NLA servo style
syncros, he converts the box to "dog engagement". Now, I don't know how a
"Dog engagement" box would perform on the street, or how it would hold up as
a daily driver, but it sounds like an option to the other choice, which is
using our 5 speeds as boat anchors.

premature.
One question that has popped up in my mind during all of the recent
exchanges re: U20
timing stuff is - what do the folks who race with the U20 do?
