Ron,
If they don't seal extremely well they will cause more damage than not using
them. They make them for MGBs and one of the guys installed a pair. A few
years later (3) his new Rover fenders rotted out. The moisture got in but
didn't get out. His rockers were also damaged as well as his inner fenders.
Use Waxoyl or the 3M product Eastwood sells to stop rust.
