And cut years off the time before your have to tear down the engine
and scrape all the sludge out of it.

The PVC system is there for a multitude of reasons and smog control
is not the only thing it does. It helps to keep the contaminated fumes
from fouling the oil by ventilating the crankcase. If your engine is blowing
so much crankcase crud that the intake system is being overwhelmed,
you've got pretty major problems already and better plan on -at least- a ring
job. Disconnecting the hose on a bad engine won't fix the underlying blowby
problem, and disconnecting it on a good engine is bad for the ENGINE, not
just the environment.

Just my opinion, of course...
And the snarly attitude comes from my spending the morning killing
hundreds of virus remnants on our servers so don't anyone take it
personally (yes, we run heavy AV)... Outlook should be declared a
terrorist tool and the authors taken into custody...
