I had a new header leak right at the collector on my car a few years ago.
The local shop was able to repair it by dropping the pipe that connects to
the header and (also using a MIG) welded it from inside the pipe where they
couldn't get to it from the outside. Worked fine and hasn't given me any
trouble for years!
