It's a Lotus twin cam. The water pump has no body per se, it's an impeller
that fits into the timing cover. After much investigation we've determined
that it's best to remove the engine (the head has to come off and the Europa
has very little room between the engine and fire wall) to replace the pump.
That's right. Next time you think something on your Datsun is stupid, talk
to a Lotus owner who has to remove and half disassemble the engine to
replace the water pump. As if that's bad enough, the pump bearings fail
often because they weren't big enough.
