Proper Installation of Venolia Forged Pistons

You might try putting three pistons together with two pins similar to Tom's
suggestion.
Then just lay the pistons sides on a flat surface.  If they are always flat,
then your Venolias are not off set ( one possibility).
Otherwise you can easily determine the off set direction by checking which
way the pistons are raised off the surface.
