Dwell meter hook up:

Are there THREE LEADS:
Red -- 12V (battery post)
Black -- GND (battery or chassis ground)
????  -- "-" side of ignition coil

Some meters have their own internal batteries,
and should have just two leads:
"-" of coil  and GROUND

It has been ages since I used a dwell meter.
Um, seem to recall my brother tried to measure
the coil output with it... that was the last
time I recall it was used. ;-(
