OROC was born in 1997 at the MidOhio Vintage GP when Chris & Diane Luers
and I met. Since both of us were then members of Roadster-in-pieces club,
the first official OROC gathering was held the next spring at Marysville
airport. We had about 10 members back then. Today our membership roster is
over 90 and we have spread well beyond the Ohio borders with members in 7 or
8 states now.
  As for Victors other criteria:
OROC has multiple gatherings each year but the biggies are:
MidOhio Vintage GP June 22-24 this year. Last year OROC was
presented with the largest club participation award! Definitely the direct
result of having a club president as strong as Team Luers!
MidOhio SCCA National Run-Offs, 9/17-9/23. Sun rain, and yes, even
snow can't keep Team Luers and company away from some of the best sports car
racing in the US!
And of course our Halloween Big Bash at Bob's! 10/20 this year!
Unfortunately, here in Ohio most of us put our roadsters away for the winter
and this event marks the end of the season. The high lites of last years
bash was taking rides in a V8 240Z, and discovering that Bob had a 411 SSS
motor in his garage! And of course the potluck dinner is a great feast.
For additional events keep a look on our web page at
http://members.aol.com/Orocrodstr/OROC.html .
Also at the web site you can see some photos from last years racing with the
Sloan Racing Team. It is a father/daughter team running two SCCA G
Production 1600 roadsters. Several of the OROC members have contributed on
race days. Chris Luers took over the position of Chief Mechanic last year
(after I spent a year begging him to come out to the track with the team!)
and several of us crew. And I must mention that Cathy Sloan is the best
Crew Chief there ever was (She saves me a cheese danish on Saturday mornings
at the track!).
We have sent members to the Glen (THE east coast roadster event for the
time being). And several of us are active in supporting a National event on
this side of the Mississippi and hopefully some will have time soon to make
the long trip west for Shasta one of these years.

And, if you haven't guessed by now, I serve as the Club Historian and
story teller (self appointed so don't go looking for some body to blame!).
