New Computer Virus

March 6, 3:00 pm - A new computer virus has been reported with the possible
attachment "nakedwife.exe" and the subject of "Fw: NakedWife". Leading
anti-virus vendors are working on a solution. The body of the message is: "
My wife never look like that! ;-) Best Regards, <infected user's name>.
The attachment received will either be a double extension file with .txt.exe
or just a single .exe extension.

When launched, the virus worm will open a DOS window to execute the initial
commands of attempting to delete all executable, .dll, .com, .bmp, and .log
files. The next step is actually running the NakedWife file and starting to
generate the e-mail to all addresses listed in the
Windows Outlook address book. There is no indication on a limit to the
number of e-mail messages sent.

As in past alerts about received suspicious or unsolicited email messages
containing .vbs or other suspicious-appearing attachments, users are
reminded: do not open any executable file attachments received in an e-mail
message. Any such messages should be deleted at once from the user's inbox
and deleted files folders. For additional assistance, please call the ODIN
Help Desk at 544-HELP (4357) Option 7 (ODIN Services).
