on the bottom of the master the bolt head closest to the fire wall holds the
piston along with the retainer clip at the back of the bore

Dean,
Often the MC as well as brake cylinders build up corrosion on the front
end of the bore. In the past I've sealed one fitting and used
compressed air in the other with the whole thing wrapped in a towel.
Watch out the piston will come out like a rocket!!!!! Someone in the
past has suggested using a grease gun so as to reduce the projectile
potential. As far as I know there are no retaining screws.
