The subject of sniping came up briefly recently. It's an interesting subject
because it seems you're either 'fer it or ag'in it...no middle ground. I don't
know if it necessarily levels the playing field but I do think it helps to keep
prices lower (or more reasonable).
I figure if a person wants something so badly they're willing to adjust their
life and schedule to be available just for that short 5 minutes out of the day
more power to them. After all, even then there's no guarantee they'll win the
auction. I've had my connection go down with only 30 seconds to go, I could
have killed my provider! On the other hand just this week I won something I
wanted very badly with only 6 seconds remaining in the auction. You have to be
willing to take the lumps of coal with the lumps of sugar.
