Paul from OROC made me promise to report back after I got my starter replaced
so here goes....
I guess the first big question I have is why so much concern over removing the
starter? Is the '70 2000 different in some way? We found that there was no need
to remove the triangle nor did we have to come in from above. The starter was
short enough to slip right out through the small space between the triangle and
frame.
The bottom nut on the starter was a little snug and took much coaxing. The top
one...oh boy the top one! Guy (Selle) waited until I had become visably
frustrated trying to reach it and then he swooped in with all sorts of special
extenders with angles and more extenders and had that puppy off in minutes. As
I said, the starter slipped right out, popped new one in, turn
ignition...NOTHING! DOH! didn't connect the line from the battery to the
starter, oops! After that she started right up. I didn't get aroung to
installing a heat shield this time around but knowing what the future holds I'm
sure I will
We also installed a Pertonix unit and boy does that baby make the ole' gal fire
up. I think I'll like haveing it in there. It'll be nice to know I can go out
tomorrow knowing I won't have to worry about a push start!
So thanks Guy! I know where the weed eater is!
