if you change the steering box, you also have to change the universal
joint
and the steering column. the good news is you'll be switching to a
collapsable column. i guess you might be able to dissassemble the two
types
of u-joints and mate the halves, but i'm not sure.
which block are you wanting to get rid of, the 1600 or the 2000?
