I received the following in my mail box after I used the word "petrol" in a
recent post:

" >Out chasing down the petrol truck

>Chandler, AZ

Okay, that does it. No matter how cutsie you think it is, in this
country, we call it GAS, FUEL, or even "GO-JUICE" Petrol is for
those pansies on the other side of the pond ;-)

small lol at my own clever-ness"

While I admit to having spent a lot of time around the British and their
cars, so did the Japanese. Let me draw to your attention the first Nissan
product - a lisenced built Austin Seven. (a BRITISH car). This car put the
company "on the map" in the auto industry. ...AND..... on the LEFT side of
the road. Japan is the only other country outside of the Commonwealth with
right-hand drive cars. (an amazing coincidince?- I think not.) Take a look at
the brakes on a Roadster also. Hmm... looks like Lucas-Girling to me!

When working on a Datsun, one might open the "bonnetto" (bonnet) to adjust
the valves with a "supana" (spanner). On those drizzly Kyoto days, it may be
necessary to put up the "huudu" (hood) to keep dry. (will be happy to supply
.gifs of Kanji if you don't believe me.)

In conclusion: That was no attempt at being "cutsie," that's just the way I
talk. Be careful with your comments, you may be connected closer than you
realise. Those "pansies" have made your Roadster possible.

To the individual who shall remain nameless for now - Why don't you go poke
your thumbs is your suspenders, and plant your fanny in your faded yellow
Camaro (you know, the one with the primered door, the chrome lady mud flaps,
the leaking air-shocks, the broken drivers side rear spring, that warped rear
deck with the gaping holes cut with a steak knife for the speakers that got
stolen along with the Kraco stereo and collection of Twisted Sister
cassettes, 2 dozen green stinky trees hanging from the vent knob, <deep
breath> and the "really bitchin' " snorkel scoop) and go get yourself some
"fish & french fries".

I relinquish my soap box.
