The same discussion is running on the vintage-race list. Some have suggested
AvGas, diesel, motor oil, but most have just run unleaded!

Subject: New miracle fuel additive?
Here is a crazy question.
Some old timer just told me, that do to the earlier car engines being
designed to run on leaded fuel, today's unleaded would damage older car's
valves. OK.
He said that, in his old Toyota pickup he ran 1 gallon of diesel in a full
tank of unleaded once a month or so. What the heck??
What was he talking about? Any ideas?
