Waylon,

Y'know, you're probably right. I guess I'm just naturally so law-abiding
that it never occurred to me. Probably a lot cheaper than my engine and carb
rebuild too.

One thing I discovered about your mailing address: it had better be right.
I had a case recently where I bought a car and the dealer recorded my
address wrong on the title application. I never noticed it, and I never
noticed that I did not receive my tag renewal. It obviously went to the
wrong address and the MVD apparently makes no attempt to correct these
things. Many months later, a very nice DPS officer informed me that I was
driving with expired tags. And, just to top it off, since I had not renewed,
MVD just assumed that I had no insurance and suspended my tags. Maximum
possible total fine for these two offences: $800. I went to court and the
judge saw my point. He reduced the fines to the mandatory minimum: $160
total for both offences. Can you believe it? I said thank you.

So, since I am obviously an incompetent criminal, I take the straight and
narrow as much as possible. And now that my baby flies through the emissions
test, and now that I can renew online (awesome), it's not such a big hassle
as it used to be. And, as I said before, roadster weather is here! So I'm a
happy camper.
