At the risk of being an anti purest and flamed by the list
I'd consider all options. I always thought that a 1600 roadster
with a blown engine is a great candidate for an engine conversion.
I know there is a kit to put an L20B into a roadster. Coupled with
a 5 speed that would make a very nice cruiser. you can also make
LZ22 engines by mixing components. Compared to U20 prices L series
engines are almost free. The only area were you can spend real money
is cyinder head porting. One caveat - keep all your old pieces
so that you can claim that all mods are reversible!

Just food for thought.
