Hmmm; lets see if anyone can top this:
Trade your beloved '66 carman red Jaguar E-type for mere money and this
funny little car the guy says was made in Japan(he says it a durtsn or
sompun like that)
Have a paint job that eventually winds up at 225 shop hrs. put on the
car(not including materials).
Get the car back. Realize that this is a Pebble Beach paint job and the
"Quick Fixup" that you planned for the car isn't rational anymore, and
after what came next neither are you.
Over the next 9 months, very small packages arrive , sometimes two a
week, that all seem to be marked $500 COD, and they all weigh next to
NOTHING. (except the one with the NOS brake calipers.) This adds up to more
than you make in the same period.
At long last and about 1000 hours of skilled labour, the car is
togeather
and beautiful. Many many people come by your shop and admire. One asshole
you don't know climbs in the car when you have it parked out front. You
here the door go SLAM. Inform him that it is perhaps not his and would he
kindly keep away from your car.
Spend several(OK about 20) happy hrs sorting out the driveablity and
other
small stuff in anticipation of showing the car.
Be the first Japanese car invited to the major regional Concour in your
area. You get 96.5 even though the car fell of the jack and creased the
rocker, you have a glareingly wrong battery, and a top seal fell off in
front of the judges! The car taking best of show goes on to win it's class
at Pebble Beach.
Now, wait for it......

        GIVE THE CAR AWAY.

(there was a woman involved)
That was all in '94,'95 . She and the car are currently circling each other
, trying to size each other up. "This is a very cautious woman" you say to
yourself.
She SWEARS that this summer shes going to drive it. (finally)

Ok list is ther some sort of prize?????
