John: The washers are for centering the caliper relative to the rotor. This should be checked any time the rotor or caliper is removed for repair work such as replacing the bearings. It has a direct affect on pedal feel, as it keeps the pads centered as well. There were several thickness used by Nissan depending on need. Dan & Susan |
