Hello Flemming et al...
I saw the Seven in question at a vintage race event
this weekend (still for sale) The details you've all
mentioned are there... It's certainly an an old Lotus.
One other confusing bit though... In bright sunlight,
I could just barely see a number scratched into the
"Engine" field on the "Lotus Components" plate, which
matches niether John Watson's Build Record, nor the
current engine (9MUH 111422)
To reiterate as observed:
"VIN" # B1135 (hand scribed, Lotus Components plate)
"Engine" # 810RS_ _ _ _ (177H?)
"Frame" # 135 (front of passenger seat, possibly one
more digit and the "3" is questionable... very
difficult to read)
So, why would the plate numbers not agree with the
build sheet?
If anyone is a local phone call away from Mike Ostrov
I would certainly love to hear what detail he might
provide about any of these numbers!
