Hi every one,
In February, I bought a "none finished project" 1981 TR8 3.5 with fuel
injection. The car had many parts missing and other parts that don't belong
to it. The engine was seized and the distributor was missing. I bought at
a junkyard a Delco distributor from a 1965 car that fits in the timing
cover. The HEI Delco distributor is too large to fit with the fuel
injection intake. The problem is that the shaft from the oil pump ends like
a flat screwdriver and so does the distributor. The distributor shaft is
also to short. Presently, I am trying to make an adaptor with a slot at
each end.
Is there any one that had that problem and find a solution? Maybe changing
the oil pump gear and shaft but where to get it and what is the part number?
For the moment I don't want to buy a new distributor because it cost to much
Thank you,
Philippe Aubry
