Hi Frans,
I didn't see the original message from you but I saw this one. Was the car
originally in California? Was the original owner John R. Brooke? The
California Department of Motor Vehicles has a form available to contact
people who are in their computer database. I believe the cost is about $20
dollars to submit the form. Once you fill out the form with the message you
want to send and your address and phone #, the Department of Motor Vehicles
will send the information to the person you are trying to contact if they
are in the data base (I don't remember what they do if the person you are
trying to contact is not in the database... do they return your money? I'm
not sure) At any rate, then it is up to the person you are trying to contact
to reply (no guarantee). I researched this about a year ago but never used
it myself so I can't say how successful the process will be. Perhaps someone
else on the list has used this method and could give us a recommendation as
to its usefulness. If you want to try to use this method I would be willing
to help you with the process.
Best regards,
Mike Denman
