Ray,
I wonder how much such a Midget engine weights. It is hardly bigger than
a motorcycle engine, but of course not made out of light metal alloy.
Not so lbc related:
With a friend I pulled quite a few engines with trannies out of some
Mercedes Benz'. Once I saw a diesel engine that we had half out that
as soon as the tranny was free the beast had a mind of its own. It jerked
forward and there was no way of stopping the baby. We didn't have such a
neat tilting device, since the pitiful pulleys we were using just quit
under this weight but with some elbow grease and standing clear of swinging
engines (very important) it worked just fine.
This happened on our first engine we pulled and it was luckily a chassis
that we were discarting anyway.
I wonder if this tilting mechanism as seen in the Harbor Freight Tools
catalogue would stand a heavier engine than in a Midget.
Cheers,
Gus
