When the Crosley was first produced, one of Powell Crosley's
innovative ideas was the Copper-Brazed (CoBra) engine. The
block was made of some sort of sheet steel, cut and bent into
shape, then braxed together with copper filler, by heating in
an oven. Another idea whose time just never arrived. The
engines had trouble with corrosion at the seams and eventual
coolant leakage. The later models had cast iron blocks.
