Tim: I've redone two differential mounts, 1968 TR250 and 1973 TR6. I removed
both mounting plates or brackets from the forward channel that runs pependicular
to the centerline of the car but leavint the threaded mounting studs hanging. I
welded a 3/8 inch steel plate with holes drilled for the studs inside the
channel also welding the studs to the same plate. I fabricated new mounting
plates(3/8 inch steel--much heavier than original equip) and welded these back
in the original position onto the channel each over its particular mounting
stud. Each stud is welded to its plate. This was done while removing only the
exhaust pieces and differential. Any good welder should be able to help you.
