On the "Every sports car is an MG thread," I get that all the time with my
TR-3. Used to be I would (pretend to) take umbrage ("I would rather walk
than drive an MG!") but now I'll say "Thanks. It's a lot of fun, but it's
a Triumph, not an MG." The reason is if someone really wants to talk about my
car they're going to learn it's a TR sooner or later and it might as well be
sooner. The important thing is to be nice about it.
I *know* this isn't the right list, but do Mi*ta owners also hear people call
their cars MGs? (Maybe that's the acid test: if no one ever calls it an MG,
it isn't a sports car.)
'Course working where for the maker of Scotch(r) tape, I'm extra sensitive to
brand names used as generic names!
