Alan,
The prices are in Germany (outrageously expensive):
Mobil 1 21.20DM/l = US$ 12.77/quart
Diesel 1.17DM/l = $2.8/gallon
Benzin 1.56DM/l = $3.78/ga
Super 1.61DM/l = $3.86/ga
Super Plus 1.67DM/l = $4.01/ga
Super with lead 1.75DM/l = $4.20/ga
Synthetic motor oil from 18 DM/l ($10.84/qt) up to 28 DM/l($16.87/qt)
the most expensive is made by Bel-Ray.
Prices as of today, 12-5-94 in Berlin calculated with today's exchange
rate of 1.57DM/US$ and indeed in US quarts and US gallons. These prices
are not the most expensive ones in Europe, but belong to the upper range.

I'm so glad that this isn't the case here in the U.S.
Cheers,
        Gus
