I took out my transmission today. That transmission, and
two parts transmissions have mainshafts with marginal to
poor bearing surfaces at the end of the shaft (case hardening
is starting to go). Sunbeam Specialties does not list the
mainshaft for early (non-synchro first gear) transmissions
like mine, and I was told several years back that they are
hard to come by since so many are bad . Does anyone have any
suggestions on where I could find one?
