Reprinted from General Dental Practitioner
HER Royal Highness The princess Royal will open the new surgical unit
at the Eastman Dental Hospital and the Institute of Dental Surgery
on Wednesday, December 1st at 3pm... The unit, within the new centre
block, is named the Victor Goldman Unit after the long serving former
head of the Department of Anaesthesia. Doctor Goldman died of bronco
pneumonia at the age of 90... At the Eastman he pioneered
post-graduate training in general anaesthesia in the dental chair, as
early as 1938. He also achieved an international reputation for both
his scientific and practical contributions to the field of dental
anaesthesia. USING PARTS OF THE CARBURETTOR FROM AN AC CAR, he
invented a simple vaporiser which is still widely used...
According to a letter accompanying the article the carburetor in question
was an SU.
