I made a bit of headway and got stymied over the weekend on the once & future
TR3A.

Headway: I got the petrol tank mounted. I used inner tube rubber instead of
the original felt pads AKA water resevoirs for rust. The voltage regulator is
mounted on the bulkhead. I put the rubber seal on the boot opening., the rubber
seal on the upper front of the door openings, the fuzzy seals on both sides of
the doors and the carpeting on both kick pannels.

Stumper: HELP HELP!! I was going to assemble the tie rods onto the car but
couldn't figure out the proper way to mount the silent blocks. The new silent
blocks are 0.01 inches larger in diameter that the holes in my center tie rod.
My memory had them is being tapered, but they are evidently not. This looks
like a press fitting, but 1/10 of an inch seems a bit much, but since it is a
cylinder and not a taper fitting it has to be tight. The factory manual did not
have a procedure for installing silent blocks. Could someone please tell me the
proper method for doing this? It seems if I used a press, the inner part would
get shoved down inside the outer sleve. Heating the ends of the center tie rod
would not only ruin my paint job, but I have not had good luck fitting parts
correctly before one colled enough to gram the other part. So how is it done in
the real world??

Upolstry question:
Memory tells me that on the front of the rear wheel arches there should be
cotton batting between the wheel arch and the nagahyde. Can someone please
comfirm this (post TS 60000)?

Removing nagahyde from instrument pannels:
I am trying to peal & scrape the nagahyde off the instrument pannel. If is not
giving up without a teriffic fight. Is there an easier way to get it off? I
was thinking of attacking it with a propane torch. Ideas? suggestions?

Cleaning up instruments/ switches:
The instruments & switchs for my 3 are grungy to the max. I need to remove a
lot of dirt build up and I do not want to damage the instruments. I dont want
to use ether of my two favorate solvents, Simple Green or petrol because I fear
ether may damage parts of the instruments or start rust. Any suggestions?

Flasher mounting:
Where does the flasher go on a post TS60000? My guess is it attaches to the
bulkhead just to the right of the commision plate to a nut welded onto the
underside of the bulkhead. and the flasher unit faces down. Can someone please
confirm this or tell me where it really belongs.

Why is it that all my pictures are of older TR3s or early TR2's?? I have better
pictorial records of one of the first 100 TR2's than I have of a post TS60000!
Slowly making headway on the once & future TR3A
