Interesting.  The club newsletter said the US version would have the
Mustang SVO (V6) engine.  However, that was a while ago and using the
5.0 engine might fit in better with Autokraft's other lines, the AC Mk
IV (427 coil-spring Cobra replica) and the Mk II (289 transverse
leaf-spring Cobra replica) which both have the 5 litre engine.

That's a big price tag and a tough market.  I doubt it can compete well
there.  At 30k pounds, perhaps (pounds generally translate to about one
to the dollar in the US car market), but at 50k, it will be a hard sell.

I hope not!  A very bad choice, I think.  I suppose it makes sense from
AC's point of view.  Tooling costs are cheap compared to steel and AC
has the know how.  I noticed that the grill of the Ace pictured on the
newsletter cover (not the one I uploaded to hoosier) had the traditional
egg-crate grill.  These were made of aluminum on the old Aces and
earlier Mk II Cobras.
