Hmm, it's been a long time (15 years) but I don't remember finding ANY
metric fasteners anywhere on my GT6+. And I had the roto-flexs off and on
two or three times. (And eventually just replaced them with non-rotoflex
axles to get rid of the rampant vibration...) Time and wear can sure
deform old threads, though, so that they don't seem close the original
pitch, etc.
