The alternator which came with my 1500 Midget had the top "ear" broken
off making adjustments somewhat difficult. Besides that problem, I
noticed at night when I put on the headlights, and then some other
electrical device....fan, wipers, etc., the alternator light
would begin to glow faintly.
Today, I installed a Lucas Rebuilt (is that an oxymoron?) alternator,
and the battery seems to be charging ok (I neglected to mention
that now that it has been getting cold up here in New England,
the battery doesn't seem to be hold a charge (1 yr old DieHard)).
Tonight I drove the car for a few minutes with the headlights on,
then I put the fan, etc on...the alt light began to glow, albeit
less pronounced than before...but glow none the less...
Is this a normal occurance? Am I just being plagued by the Lord of
Darkness?
Why has my bank account shrunk since I bought the Midget?
