Last night I was scrounging around my garage trying to find a shift
knob. I have the knob that came with the car---I took it off and put it
somewhere when I started my engine rebuild last year. And I also have a
brand knew knob that I bought cheap when a local import car parts store
went out of business. But my garage is a mess, and I couldn't find
either one. I've been wearing a heavy leather work glove on my right
hand for the past few nights when I drove the car around the block. But
last night I was ready for more driving, and I didn't want to wear a
hole in my hand or the glove.

Stumbling around the garage for the 15th time, peering into dark, spider
infested corners, I spotted an old rusty lawn mower handle---off one of
the 5 or 6 old rusty lawn mowers stacked in the corner. It has a
collapsable handle, with a joint in the middle. On either side of the
joint were two t-shaped handles which you spin like a wing-nut to loosen
the joint and fold the handle. I spun one of these all the way
off---the threads looked right, so why not try...

So now my TR6 has plastic T-shift knob!

Might deter thieves....?!
